I riveted the firewall recess in place. I had left it open th lng because the opening provided convenient access to the forward part of the fuselage from the outside. But the time had come.
With the recess riveted I permanently installed the battery box and also installed the center tunnel cover and attached the fuel filter and pump to the fuel valve and firewall fitting. Electric for the pump was connected and wires secured.
The fuel valve and fuel pump covers were placed in position to prevent any stray items from finding their way into the tunnel.
