Brief Description:  Set wing incidence, control rigging

Today seemed much more satisfying than yesterday.

First I measured the wings to the fuselage and used plumbs to determine the straightness of the wing leading edges. I measured over and over and all I came up with was a 1/16" correction to the left wing to get everything straight and square. Next I measured the wing angle, multipe times and acroos the width of the wing and adjusted the rear spar to fuselage attach point to acheieve the proper angle. Once everything was set and double checked and triple checked and so on I drilled the rear spars to the fuselage bulkhead attach tab. That sets the wing. Next I drilled the fuel tank bracket attach. Both of these required multipled drillings, starting with a small drill and then moving up to the required size.

Once te wings were drilled to the fusleage I amrked and drilled to bottom skin to wing bottom attach holes.

At lunchtime I picked up the tailwheel and spring which had been drilled by a local machine shop.

In the afternoon I assembled the control sticks to the control clumn and attached the aileron pushrods. All of Va's measurements were perfect and the set length before installation appears to be prefect. It is realy pretty remarkable how everything fits!!

Started on flap pushrods, cut them to length and tapped one end on one pushrod.
