Bolted the roll bar to the fuselage with both bolts on both sides, hopefully for keeps. The spacer on the rear bolt was a real bear to get into place because the canopy deck flange prevented direct access. I shimmed one bolt and the roll bar is lining up pretty well with the canopy frame, and is plumb.
I began drilling the engine mount to the firewall and discovered a conflict between the lower engine mount and the firewall at the corners. A quick call to Van's confirmed that this was normal and I would need to trim back the firewall flange and bottom skin near the gear leg attach tubes. I used the Dremel tool with a cut-off disk for this. Firewall corner holes for engine mount were drilled to small diameter.
Short session as I am off to a Sportair Workshop to learn fiberglass skills!!
