Brief Description:  Mag timing, fuel system flush

Today I borrowed a timing light and worked on timing the right mag. I decided to srtart from scratch and removed the distribution plate from the back of the mag so the alignment pin could be insterted. The mag was then reinstalled on the engine with the #1 cylinder at 25 degrees before top dead center. The light was then used to further refine the proper firing position. Once acheived, all assembly hardware was tightened appropriately.

It was a nice warm day so I pushed the planes outside and had the fuel truck put 5 gallons in the left tank. Using a PC from the outside to control swithes on the VP-X I recirculated fuel in the left tank, then transferred over to the right tank, recirculated there and then finaly returend the fuel to the left tank. I did find one fitting that needed a bit more tighteneing but other than that no leaks. There was no evidence of any contamination in the in-line fuel filter I used on the recirculation line.

While the plane was outside I donned gloves and a respirator and wiped the planed down with MEK to remove markings from the aluminum skins.
