Brief Description: Glass whlle and intersection fairings
Today I did a 3-ply layup of fiberglass cloth where the wheel fairings and intersection fairings attach.
First the whell fairings were removed from the airplane, clecoes removed and the areas to be glassed were sanded. Next a pattern was cut for the front and rear fairings for the glass. The paper pattern was transferred to manila and then was marked for 3 widths, each 1/2" wider than the previous.
The pattern was cut out and the fiberglass cloth was marked and cut.
The fiberglass pieces were bonded to the fairings with epoxy and left to cure.
