On the way to the airport I stopped by the USPS to mail off registration forms and documents to the FAA. N321BV has already been reseved so that will be the plane's registration number.
Helper Skip came out and we installed the wings. This went quite well and tok only a couple of hours to get all attach bolts seated. The wing spar is a very tight fit between the main bulkheads so I wiped the mating surfaces lightly with oil. We then worked the spar into position and I used an inspection mirror to look through the bolt holes to give Skip instructions on how the wing needed to be moved to align the holes. Once aligned I used drift pins to further align the holes, then drove the close tolerance bolts in with the rivet gun. I wileps a light coat of grease on the bolts and this method worked very well The close tolerance bolts are very snug in the burnished holes of the bulkheads and spar.
While Skip was still there we mounted the propeller to the engine and snugged to bolts down to finger tight.
It is looking a lot like an airplane now!! The other good news is that it fits nicely in the hangar with the Decathlon in place.
