Brief Description:  Drill left flap hinge, rivet brace, dimple skins

Today I completed the drilling of the bottom skin and flap brace to the flap hinge. All parts were removed and deburred. The hinge pin was separated and the portion opposite the flap clecoed to the flap brace. The flap brace was countersunk where the bottom skin meets the brace. The brace was then riveted to the spar. The aileron brackets on both wings were marked with the extended line of the flap hinge wire and a hole was drilled in the location. The flap will be assembeld to the winge by inserting the wrire thropugh this hole and into the hinge. All bottoms skins were dimpled for the flap brace rivets, and are now ready for riveting to the wing.

I worked a while trying to figure out the aileron travel limit stops but cannot make any sense of what is in the plans. I fabricated the stops from angle stock to the specified dimensions, but for the life of me do not see how they would limit the aileron travel at all. I am going to have to do more research on this.

I drilled the inspection place cover screw holes to the proper diameter and dimpled them.

Late in the afternoon Charles Harrison, a local EAA Tech Counseler came by and did a review of the wings before I close them up with the bottom skin. He was very complimentary so I am ready to start skinning the wing bottoms!
