Brief Description:  Stall warning, mount tank, left flap

This morning I took a break from flap work and turned my attention to the left wing. I retreived the stall warning assembly which I had put together some months ago and made a few tweaks to it then installed in in the left wing. I had expected this to be pretty straightforward, just 2 screws to mount, but access was very difficult, even with the tank off. I finally managed to get the screws tightened down then had to adjust a bit and retighten to get proper operation of the microswitch. Electrical check was OK.

After installing the stall warning I mounted the left tank, now having proven its intergrity by holding air pressure for a full 6 days. All attach angle bolts were installed and torqued to the proper value, and all screws attaching the tank skin to the spar were installed and torqued.

On completion of this I moved back to the left flap. The actuator reinforcement plate and angle and platenut were riveted as appropriate to the spar and end rib. The inner ribs were then riveted to the bottom skin. Next the top skin was clecoed on along the rear spar and top and bottom skin were riveted to the rear spar. I discovered this to be much easier than on the first flap by leaving the top skin loose from the ribs, which offered some much needed working room for the bucking bar and a hand. The bottom spar row went well and when finished riveting I clecoed the top skin to the inner ribs and riveted one rib before closing down for the day.
