No pictures today. First I did a little more work on the counterbalance rib using fluting pliers to get the holes better lined up with the skin. Then I reassembled and match drilled all holes. Disassembled and then deburred holes and edges of all parts. Dimpled counterweight skin and machine countersunk counterweight. In the process of machine countersinking the spar where it attaches to the root rib, I found that there was not enough distance between the flange and the hole to allow the countersink cage to sit flat. I foolishly tried to force it and ended up elongating the hole. Time to order a replacement part again.
The evening was nice and the Decathlon has been badly neglected so I called off more work on the elevator and went for an enjoyable ride in the evening sky.
