Brief Description: Drill right elevator skins, rivet skeleton
Yesterday I ordered a replacement elevator spar for the one I ruined the day before. Today I used the other spar and match drilled it to the ribs, reinforcement plates and skin. The rework took about an hour, so not too bad. And the replacement part was 18 bucks. Then I completed the dimpling of all skeleton parts and the skin. I riveted together all of the skeleton parts. Outside rib to counterweight rib, reinforcement plates and nut plates to the spar, inside rib to the spar, and control horn to the spar and inside rib. All rivets were set with rivet gun and bucking bar, which worked out well. I used the double offset rivet set for a couple of the rivets that were in very tight quarters.
A satisfying evening of work, corrected the previous sessios mistakes and didn't make any more. Next step is to rivet the skin to the right elevator.
