Tonight I completed the rudder. I rolled the skins along the leading edge lower section and clecoed together. The instructions were not clear but it took a #30 reamer to fianl drill the holes to accept the specified blind rivet. I was generally pleased, though as you can see from the pictures, the curves are not pefect. The l;ower section edge did not lie as flat as I would have liked, but this whole leading edge is concealed in the back of the horizontal stabilizer so I decided to not stress over aesthetics and move on. The final step was to put blind rivets in the back 2 holes alonf the bottom bib and the last hole along the top rib where there wqas insufficient clearance for a bucked rivet.
After completing the rudder I started preparations for the elevators. Besides hanging the plans on my plans stand, I got all the stiffeners mlaid out and marked for cutting at my next session.
I finished the evening with a good clean up of the area and drained the compressor tank to rid it of moisture, something I will have to do more often now that the warmer (and more humid) weather has arrived.
