Brief Description:  Sec 29-21 steps 1-2

Installed the landing gear mounts. Began by cutting & deburring the 4 spacers from the al tube (took a while to locate the tube stock) The nproceeded to install the mounts. I was sweating this because when I test fit them previously it too too much 'persuasion' to get a couple of bolts in, and I was concerned that I might have some alignment issues. But once again, Van's precision engineering paid off.I found that the earlier problem was binding of the leg mount where it exits the bottom skin, after enlarging the exit hole, the mount fit well (tight, but well) There are 2 bolts on the bottom inside of each mount that take some noodeling to get washers and nuts on, as they sit between the 2 center section spars and there's not room to get a hand in there. Check the photo album, I ducktaped a 3/8 open end wrench to some angle, then taped a 6" ruler to the back to act as a stop, I used some ez turn (sticky stuff) to hold the washer and nut in place while I wrenching the bolt head from the other side, all in all not too bad. Everything got torques and lacquered. I'm beginning to feel like things are ecoming together. up to this point it's been a series of steps to build parts, but from this point on it seems like each step is adding something to the finished plane, Anyway its probably just mental, but it seems more satisfying.
