Today I focused on getting the right wing tip completed and had to install the tip light assembly and fitas done on the left tip. First was to mark out and cut the cutouts in the glass tip as per the drawings. Then I could not find the second of the two light cover plates and so drew up the part on scrap sheet using the already finalized part on the left tip as a template and drilled, cut, deburred, edged and cleaned up the made up part to fit the right tip.
At this point being ready to prime the two light cover plates I decided to prep and prime all the small parts, covers etc for the wings since the wings are about to be completed. So I did this with about 10 parts in all being primed including the strips for reinforcing the inside tip edges.
