Brief Description: Aileron and flap line up and install & tip install
As per my log yesterday I had to devise a jig to line up /reference the line for the aileron, flap and subsequently the wing tip.
I made up and fitted a cross beam and got the exact line from the drawings and with everything matched and pulled the line with string as a reference. The aileron was clamped but kept moving until I devised a 'wedge' from foam which wedged in allows slight movement but keeps the aileron firmly in place without damaging the painted surface at all.
With all lined up and square and checked multiple times - all over the span of the day..I started prelimenary fitting of the tip and marked out the necessary cut outs for the aileron hinge and to clear the actual aileron itself. Once perfect I will trim the tip with the dremel machine until it fits.
