Today began the process of drilling then final drilling the hinges, the framework and canopy skins were installed and fitted to be sure of gaps and proper fits, the original marks were confirmed and had to be moved a tiny bit down. The frame was set up on the bench in my jig and drilled with a block, first to a small diameter then checked and opened witha #12 drill. With several fits and checks and operating the frame up and down I final drilled to 1/4" and inserted the bushings.
The resulting fit and hinging was perfect and the skins matched nicely when closed.
Also spent some time with the rear glass and skin, marked the cutout portion and the area to be glued which I have to trim. Also started with the masking of the canopy bubble, first removed the old vinyl covering which was in a bad state waith lots of dirt trapped under it, then washed the glass and dusted and dried - then began applying the vinyl film. Completed the one side then turned over.
