Brief Description: Started with the fiberglass fittings, dissassembly
Began work on the 'plastic' parts today whilst waiting for our pipe benders to arrive. Started by removing the rudder, elevators and then the empennage, but elected to keep the horizontal stab and stab in place to re fit the control surfaces for proper fit and alignment of the respective plastic parts. The empennage bolts were re installed but not torqued as before since the entire tail group will be removed shortly for paint anyways. Started some sanding, filing, and shaping of the tips starting with the 'fin' tip. The tip was fitted and trimmed and then fitted and trimmed some more to get a perfect fit. Once in place it was match drilled to the fin and cleco'd in place. Made up some templates for the insert ribs for all the tips. Started research and learning about glass work.
