Brief Description:  Landing Gear And Push Rod Boot Work.

Plans page SNB-L02.

Removed powder coat from second 2 1/2" area for the bearing contact on the nose wheel strut. Final clean up on removal area with emory cloth plumber's tape to polish the steel up a bit.

Also removed all waxed paper from the orange RTV impregnated fiberglass cloth made for the push rod boot.

TIP: When impregnating the fiberglass cloth with orange RTV (Permatex #81422), use high quality, heavy duty waxed paper. The cheap stuff has wrinkles throughout it, and this is a grap point for the RTV, and the waxed paper tears and shreds when trying to peel the cloth off it. The wrinkles also transfer to the cloth surface (cosmetic only, and boot cannot be easily seen). I also recommend TWO 3 oz tubes. Lay out a little over half a tube n the bottom paper, lay on the fabric, place a litle over another half a tube on top of the fabtic and cover with more waxed paper. Roll through the fabtic with some sort of roller. Also note it has a short working length where it spreads and moves sufficiently. Work quickly.
