Brief Description: Fabricating Protective Vent Line Footwell Cover
Fabricated a protective cover for the fuel vent line where it angles to meet and exit the floor of the cabin.
Created the fold template by assembling pieces of cardstock to produce the general cover shape. Then scanned the assembled pieces and produced one vector image of the full unfolded outline. Printed the vector outline of the complete cover with fold lines, and traced it onto a piece of 0.025" 6061 T6 aluminum sheet stock. Cut the shape out, deburred and dressed the edges, the marked the fold lines. Folded the largest fold on the bending brake, then the two smaller remaining folds in the bench vise.
Installed the final cover into the nut plates of the two grommetted tubing clamps.
The cover should provide adequate protection for the fuel vent line from accidental foot contact in the cockpit footwell.
