Began fabrication and installation of the interior section of the 1/4" OD fuel vent line.
I did all initial test bending and fitting with cheaper soft copper tubing. After getting a good shape and fit, I copied the bend shaped to the final aluminum 1/4" OD tubing. The upper end was given a double flare to fit the bulkhead fitting, and the bottom was extended about 4 or 5 inches through the bottom of the cabin floor, just a couple inches aft of the firewall base.
The tubing was kept very close to the firewall centerline reinforcement spline for protection.
Once the aluminum tubing was flared, bent and installed, positions were determined for two clamps to be installed at the bends.
Initial trial and trial fitting of the 1/4" OD tubing, using cheaper soft copper tubing..
Bending an aluminum 1/4" OD tubing shape to match the good copper tubing trial piece.
Final bend and fitting of the 1/4" OD aluminum tubing fuel vent line.
