Brief Description:  Fabricating New Exhaust Tunnel Deflection Lips

The laser cut deflection lips I received in the kit were too wide to fit the 6.5" wide tunnel opening. The mountings tab that were to be bent to 30 degrees and had mounting holes for the leading edge of the lips were actually 6 5/8" wide, and would not fit into the 6 1/2" wide tunnel opening. I had pre-bent the lip pieces and the sides being bent once to the width of the the mounting tabs prevented these pieces from being used trimed and still used.

I layed out two new lip pieces for bending again. This time I used a card stock template first to ensure the mounting tabs and the 90 degree bent sides all fit properly inside the 6.5" wide tunnel opening. Once verified, I cut out the first metal lip piece and deburred the outer edges. After checking the fit into the tunnel, the mounting hole positions were layed out and centerpunched.
