Brief Description: Finished Main tank straps and worked aux tank
I finished the three under support straps for the 25 gallon main tank. Each strap has an adjustment buckle that I have to fabricate myself by bending strapping materail around steel rods with threads and holes. I also made the top and bottom straps for the 11 gallon auxillary tank. All straps are secure and in place but I still need to rivet the ends together and also sand them down and paint them for corrosion control. I'm also going to need to add two buckles to the forward side of the aux tank because my straps are about an inch too short. It's VERY hard to figure out how to get these things made at the proper length. This is the one time I didn't research it, but maybe there is a trick I missed. If I had to do it over again, I think I would use something like small ratchet strap tie down nylon and attach to both ends to get my length and tank height figured out, then bend the strapping to fit the bottom contour of the tank and fabricate the ends for lengths matching the nylon measurement. Sure, now I think of that! :)
