Brief Description: Fabricating tubing support for sky light
Heated and bent some round tubing to be welded in where the stringers were previously cut in order to install a Lexan sky light instead of a fabric roof. Still need to make the upright replacement tubes which will accept the stringer terminations and support the new horizontal tube. Also bent two smaller tubes to match the contour of the existing tube coming from the upper windshield which ended where the string previously began. Clamped down a sheet of lexan to the mock up and it seems that it will fit the contour pretty good. A little more work on the doors and then on to planning for whatever welding I'm going to need. Let's see, here's a list off the top of my head in case I forget something: - tabs to support throttle, mixture, prop - tabs to support under dash tray to hold electronic misc. - tabs for dome / interior lights - tabs for gopros (interior and on tail) - skylight and rear window framing - possibly cut out/ reposition gear leg fairing to accomodate large bush tires. - tabs for battery mount and ELT support - tabs for wiring harness routing support What am I forgetting? Sure wish I could learn to TIG good enough to TAC it for an expert to come behind.
