Brief Description:  Painting the Fuse...

Assembled my paint booth (made from 1" PVC pipe, duct tape and semi-clear plastic) in Jackie's side of the Garage. Final sanded the Fuse, bought a new HVLP Spray Gun, then mixed up enough paint to give the Fuse it's final 2 cross coats of paint. Came out pretty good, (the new gun is a vast improvement). The Stewart System water-borne polyurethane paint produces a great gloss coat (as is clear in the pic's). I've now moved the Fuse (after attaching the Rudder) out of the paint booth and along the wall in the same side of the garage. The Stab and Elevator are wrapped in plastic and are standing up against the wall behind the Fuse in the Pic'.s.

All 4 Wings are ready to paint. One - the upper right - is already in the first cross coat of Yellow. It needs to be sanded now and then the final 2 cross coats applied. The other 3 are in the first two cross coats of Charcoal Primer - UV block. The upper left is sanded and ready for 2 cross coats of white primer/sealer/UV blocker. 1st I'll shoot the white on this Wing. Then I'll sand and shoot the 1st cross coat of Yellow and sand again. I'll then give both upper Wings their final 2 cross coats of Yellow and apply trim the next day.

The the same procedure will then be followed with the two lower Wings.

This week I acquired a Continental 0-200 Certified engine with less than 500 hours SMOH - complete with accessories. I'm going to switch gears and use it on this A/C instead of the Corvair. which I still intend to use on the "up-graded" Zenith when I get back to it after this one is flying.
