Warmer day. Ran heater and warmed up hangar. Tested CO detector, it failed, ordered replacement.
Tweaked and installed root covers that I had made from spare materials from AirTex, cut off original aluminum covers and reinstalled shortened versions. Will need a little more work in future to secure firmly.
Applied markings to oil pressure gauge as follows: 0-10 red, 10-30 yellow, 30-60 green.
Cleaned all oil from lower cowl, flew test flight, shut down using recommended procedure (switches off – full throttle), checked cowl for oil with UV light, only one drop, no drips, see photos. Confirmed breather extension does gather some oil. Extension needs to be made permanent next time cowl is off.
After flight I trial fitted skylight surrounds and marked for side and orientation. Noted weather stripping I previously installed on door sills does not stay put, will need to move to door frame itself.
