Brief Description: ELT completions and weatherproofing.
Yesterday I finished the ELT mounting bracket and installed it and rerouted the telephone-type wire from the remote box on the panel to the ELT in its new location. (Two trips under the panel!) Today I hooked up the ELT antenna and remote-control wire and tested both modes of activation.
Wiped out the oil from inside the cowl and added an extension to the breather tube just in case it is too short and oil from there is being sucked up into the engine compartment. Discussed testing methods and sequence of events with Bill in the continuing effort to find the source of escaping oil.
Weather stripped both doors and windows to try and seal out the ever colder fall/winter air.
Removed right side wing root fairing and sealed the leading edge of the wing/windshield same as I did for the left side a few day ago with the new super sticky vinyl tape. Sealed the random openings in the fuselage wing root bulkhead with the same tape to slow down air leakage.
