Brief Description:  Compass and Intake Filter Installation

As you know, I’m scrambling to get as much done before Tom and Lynn come out to help with the last heavy items. The goal is to actually fire up the engine and get the blades turning before they leave, so I am going down my list of little forgettables like the fact that I never installed the air filter because its wet and I didn’t want it collecting all the dust and particles from around the shop. I took the carb heat box apart for the first time since I installed it, inserted the filter, and put it all back together.

The other item I needed to do was to install the compass on top of the pod in a horizontal plane. I was going to try and have a cover made for it, but I decided to just leave it as a basic installation.

I had to remove the instrument panel once again to drill though and install the brass mounting screws, and in addition, I ran the instrument light wire for the compass to the instrument light bus I installed inside the panel. Once that was done, I resealed the pod and re-installed the pod edging material.
