Brief Description: Transponder Temp Probe / TR Control Cable
I finally installed the expensive temperature probe that is used to calculate density altitude for the transponder. I mounted it in-line with the transponder antenna, but far enough away so as not to be in conflict. My buddy Bill Johnson that has arguably the smoothest Safari out there, mentioned he was concerned that the heat from the cabin heater could cause false readings, but when I ran my cabin heater I ducted the entire run to the vents at the pedals, so the heat isn’t run directly into the compartment and forced to radiate up through random cracks like most Safaris. I think I will be okay, but I will keep it in mind when I cross check the density altitude calculation.
I also just finished up the connections for the tail rotor cable to the tail rotor and the pedals. I still need to cotter and torque stripe, but I want to do some checks on the negative and positive pitch before I secure it in place.
