I think I mentioned in an earlier entry that I was stupid and forgot to remove the little black cap on the center contact probe on the alternate power unit outlet before I soldiered the 00 wire into the plug with a torch. Obviously, with that heat it didn’t last long.
I contacted the company that makes the outlet and asked them if they could send me the black cap that probably cost them less than a nickel. Unlike EVERYONE I have had to reach out to during this build project, they were rude and completely unhelpful.
At the end of the day I ended up just ordering a new outlet for about $25 and called it good. What a waste.
