This wire could be bundled with the other tail boom wires, but it’s short and can easily be a separate run. I decided to complete the connection now. I pulled it apart and made sure that I had a really good ground to the frame of the helicopter. I used my wire brush bit with the pilot guide to clean off the powder coat under the mounting bracket.
One thing I was thinking about last night is that since the console switch is only an arming switch, and the on/off is performed on the cyclic button, how can you really be sure that the light is on? I think I need to consider installing some sort of small indicator light that shows when the landing light is on. The landing light is critical as a method to be seen by, and I want to be absolutely sure that it’s on when I think it is.
