Brief Description:  Instrument Panel and Pod Completion

Well, I would be naïve to think that I won’t be opening the pod up again, but it sure would be nice to think that I didn’t miss anything, and that everything is going to work.

It was interesting to see how this all plugged together for the very first time, and it’s a quick reminder of how many connections I had to sort out and carefully wire both to the gauges and the appropriate buses in the pod, as well as to the back of the cabin. It was my goal to have everything labeled and neatly organized, and I’m not sure if you can see everything in the photos, but I think it came out fairly clean. Unfortunately, slack in each of the harnesses is required in order to actually make the connections while the panel is out of the pod. There is nothing you can do about that, unlike an airplane panel that can be accessed from both sides.

Even the Garmin 696 is connected to its newly mounted XM Weather and GPS antenna pucks. I LOVE the way this panel looks, and now I just hope that it works!!!!!!
