Brief Description: Air Venture 2016 Update
First, Since I’ve been spending so much time on my helicopter build over the last year, I had been unexpectedly faced with the issue of having to choose between working on the helicopter project, or to go flying and stay current in my beautiful Cirrus SR22. I know…poor me, right?! Well, it was actually a no win scenario for me. Regardless of my choice, I was going to bed feeling bad for not doing whatever I didn’t decide to do. After a long pro/con process, I decided to sell my plane after over seven years of ownership. It has left me in a funk, but I’m fighting my way through it.
Secondly, I just got back from Air Venture in Oshkosh, WI, and it was amazing as always. I was able to see my Safari friends, and most importantly, my buddy Tom from PA. I also hung out with some buddies of his who flew out to see him enter his helicopter in the judging completion. To make a long story short, Tom’s helicopter looked amazing and he took home the highest award in his category as Grand Champion. He did a video interview, the EAA photographer took a million photos, and Tom received a beautiful trophy. SO proud of him.
