I think I have mentioned this a thousand times, but as a reminder, the tail boom is at the hanger, and the helicopter and my shop is still at home. To make the vertical stabilizer, I have had to run back and forth from the house to the airport about 5 times now.
I began with cardboard and then I have kept refining the shape over time. I wanted to get this done so I can bring it to the painter with the horizontal stabilizer.
I thought I was there, but I just noticed that I will need to have enough clearance for the adel clamps I plan to use to hold the tail rotor cable in place. I may have to take off a little more material, but we will see. I will check and make a determination.
I also just remembered that I need to make the mount for the radio antenna, and I want that to get painted at the same time too. That shouldn’t be a big deal.
