This project required access from the back of the console through the aft kick panel and into the area under the seats where the main panel and battery will be located.
In addition, I needed to secure the aft console mounts to the panel itself to stiffen up both the console and the aft panel. It didn’t need much to lock it down, so I only added one nut plate to each side of the back of the console mounts, then screwed it to the aft panel from under the seats with washers to give it a bigger area for the mounting pressures.
I needed to mount the plates a little differently on each side, so from the inside the holes look out of level. This bugs me to death, but it is a better mount for the console, and no one will ever see it. In fact, I had to lower my phone down into the bay, just to take this picture.
