Brief Description: Continued Instrument Pod Fairing
I am really not enjoying this process. Not because it’s difficult or not going well, but because of the dust. There is dust everywhere, and in everything! The fairing is progressing, although I found another void in the fiberglass I missed the first time. I chased it back as far as it would go and repaired the spot as I did with the area I found below it.
The result of the fairing that I’m going for, as I think I mentioned before, is to get a nice straight line on the flat surfaces of the pod. It was in pretty bad shape when I started, but I’m happy with the trend of the repairs and finish. Doesn’t look like much right now, but I think it will look good once painted.
I’m also continuing to fair out the inside lip of the pod for both the recess of the instrument panel and to provide a level mounting area for the angle pieces that will hold it in place.
