Brief Description:  Any further backwards and I'd have a tailstrike.

Before I can move onto the next panels, I need to make sure that the work in front of it is ready for the proper fit. For example, I was unhappy with the lower pilot kick panel because the compound angle against the aft kick plate was causing the front of the panel to stand up off of the floor frame. You could get it to work if you forced it down, but that will simply add additional and unnecessary stress to the metal, and the helicopter will be vibrating enough as it is. Replacing that piece could affect the aft kick panel if I’m not careful, so that needed to be done now.

Then I needed to remove the pilot well panel that sits against the pilot seat because it was sitting up about an 1/8” too high and wouldn’t let the seat panel sit flush. That took some time to disassemble, trim, file, refit, etc. Then I needed to trim pieces of the aft kick panel to better meet up on the 45 with the other panels. I also located and drilled holes to match up with the future nut plates on the frame. I also had various other minor fit corrections that tend to take a significant amount of time. They aren’t glamorous, but they need to be done.
