Brief Description: LG boxes/Forward floor
|
|
Well I managed to get a fair bit done today.
I removed the mid cabin braces from the LG boxes and torqued all bolts to 24 inch pounds. I also realised that I had managed to rivet the one hole the mid cabin braces line up with, that should have left, so I had to drill these rivets out, pic 1 pre drilling.
I clecoed the LG boxes to the floor, riveting the WD 822-1 weldments to their respective LG box bulkheads. This was quite a lengthy process and I messed up two rivets, had to drill them out and replace.
I drilled to full size the rivet holes common with the floor and the front and rear corner angles. The three bolt holes that go through the WD 813-1 weldments and the floor were slightly out of line, so I removed the LG boxes and drilled the holes in the floor to the next size up. I re-clecoed the LG boxes to check everything was in order and the holes were lined up very nicely. I took the LG boxes back off and deburred the holes that had just been drilled.
I then primed the floor panel, and while I was waiting for it to dry, I had lunch and worked on the 864D-1 throttle quadrant bracket. Then I drilled the rivet holes for the platenuts to full size, and clecoed it to the port LG box drilling the rivet holes to #30. I then removed it edge and debur, I dimpled the rivet holes for the platenuts, dimpling the platenuts as well. I riveted them to the bracket, and primed it. While that dried a little, I re-clecoed the LG boxes to the floor. I then riveted the throttle quadrant bracket to the port LG box.
I then riveted only the rear corner angles of both LG boxes to the floor, the front corner angles being left till a later time.
I clecoed the two upper braces to check for fit, and called it a day.
