Brief Description:  Port fuel tank and NACA duct.

Today, as the port tank passed it's leak test, I trial fitted it to the port wing using a strap to pull it in tight against the wing spar. After screwing the locating screws in half their length, on the top and bottom surfaces, I then checked the "Z" bracket bolts that go through the spar and into the brackets to mount the tank on the spar. Half of these bolts would not engage the threads of the nutplates on the "Z" brackets, as the nutplates were out of line by a tiny amount.

As it was becoming hot, I decided to investigate this another day, and instead riveted the starboard NACA duct onto the lower starboard wing. As the sealer I used to hold the bug guard in place had cured I fitted the duct hose and clamped it using a jubilee clamp. I then fed the hose and the NACA duct assembly through the hole in the skin, which worked well, fed the hose right through the wing to the root and clecoed the duct housing itself in place. I riveted it to the skin using CS 4-4 pop rivets, using small washers on the inside in contact with the duct housing to protect the duct form damage whilst riveting.
