Brief Description:  Misc work - Flap Sensor, GPS antenna, vacuum

Yesterday, we drilled the Pitot/AOA tubing pass-through holes in the spar web, and today, we are continuing into the left gear tower with a drilled hole and a snap bushing that will take the tubing all the way up into the area behind the panel. It took all four eyes, a borescope, an angle drill, a mirror, and a flashlight to get it done, making sure not to harm anything inside the gear tower, but we got it done. After the gear tower was drilled, we noticed a lot of FOD inside the gear tower that we could not get with the regular shop vac heads. Bob told me how he fashioned a tight-space vacuum attachment using a PVC cap and 3/4" clear tubing. This sounded like a great solution, so off to Ace Hardware we went, for the cap and tubing. Upon our return, I started working on the flap sensor hinge, and Bob got to work on the vacuum hose. The hose is an additional attachment, so I can slip it on the end of the shop vac hose and get into all the fuselage nooks and crannies. It worked out great, and we got into all the gear tower corners to clean up all the FOD.

Looking at the gear towers and thinking about routing the Pitot/AOA tubing, I realized this would be the time to put the flexible brake lines onto the brake fittings on the Grove landing gear. Bob happened to already be inside the fuselage, so he drew the short straw to screw on and tighten the brake hoses. It took the crow's feet attachments, but Bob was able to tighten the brake lines, although the left brake line was in the same area as the fuel line, so Bob had to slightly move the middle of the fuel line inward a tad.

With the gear tower work finished, Bob moved to the flap sensor, and I started working on getting the WAAS GPS antennae drilled in the turtle deck. Bob madegood progress on the flap sensor, and I finished the GPS holes. It was a good day in the shop, Thanks Bob.
