Brief Description: Re-Work... It Happens.

While preparing the aircraft for its move to KAKR, I discovered that the canopy's closure was being impacted by an unknown source. Initially, I thought a wire bundle was restricting the movement of the canopy struts. No, that wasn't the issue. I next hone the forward edge of the canopy a few thousands for additional clearance. Damn..., that wasn't it either. Finally, I discovered a slight ding to the canopy's internal shroud. It appeared that a group of vertically stacked remote avionics, specifically, the GTR20 Remote Comm & the GMA245 Audio Panel were mounted outboard about one-half inch too far.
The fix calls for the removal of a few electronics, a couple support frames, wire bundling, etc. The old support frames will have to be scrapped & the new ones will incorporate a “well” so that the GTR20 & its mating partner the GMA245 will sit slightly below the panel; thereby giving way for full canopy closure.
Ahh…, the joys of learning.
