Bob is busy with work, so I am flying solo tonight. Back to the cowling fit issue: I was playing around with the cowling fit, and I got the hinge/cowl on better, but it still did not fit well on the right side. I peered through the oil door and saw some interference with a few of the hinge eyes, so I marked the offending eyes, removed the clecos and cowl, and started adding some more bevel to the offending eyes. With the hinge in hand, I realized the smaller cowl-side hinge on the right side had been beveled incorrectly. Instead of the bevels creating a V-slot, I had inadvertently made an "A" type bevel. Since I had plenty of hinge material, it was just a matter of cutting a replacement hinge and match-drilling it to the cowl with the cowl and hinge in place. I then deburred and beveled the hinge correctly and reinstalled the cowl, which fit very nicely this time.
