I used my fancy paper template to mark the six equally spaced holes in the end of the aluminum tubes. I used my spring loaded center punch to provide a good starting point for the drill bit. I used some wood scraps and clamps to create a holding fixture for drilling. I initially thought that I would need to use the drill press for this (and did use the drill press to practice on a piece of scrap), but decided that I could get by with the hand drills. I started with a 1/16th inch bit, then went to a #40, and then finally the #30 bit to get it to full size for the pull rivets. I late just used the 1/16th and #30 bits since I only have two drills..
After drilling, I took things apart and deburred the holes. Setting the pull rivets was straight forward with no issues.
