Then I cut both the aluminum and steel parts to length with a hack saw. The hack saw is very inaccurate when cutting a tube. I left about an 1/8th inch extra when cutting. I then squared it up on my bench sander and sanded up to the line and then rechecked the length.
I flushed all four tubes with MEK substitute to clean them out and then sprayed primer from both ends and rolled them around.
