It finally dawned on me that I was using the wrong access plates for the fuel tanks. I had gotten as far as edge prepping and labeling the standard plates that work with the float type fuel indication system and standard fuel pickup lines. The question of how I was going to fill all of those holes had been rattling around in the back of my mind as I was trying to line the ring and plates up for drilling when I finally figured it out. At first I thought I need to order new parts, but then I went and got out the Capacitance fuel Sender kit and found the correct T-408(?) access plates with no extra holes (Duh!!). I modified my fly cutter to get a larger diameter. The arm had an end stop that I filled down to allow me to extend the radius out to the full length of the arm. With this mod to the tool was able to cut a larger hole – just about to the extent of the stiffening bead. I then marked out the rivet and fuel fitting hole on the T-405 brackets. I didn’t drill anything though. I’m thinking I should hold off on drilling all of the rivet holes until I get the fuel fitting hole drilled full size. Not a real productive day..
