Brief Description:  Rudder riveting

Continued riveting of the skin to the skeleton

Finished edge rivets for skin to rudder spar (drilled out one more)

Riveted lower rib/fairing attach strip/skin. The last two rivets on each side are difficult to reach with the squeezer where the surface comes to a point. On one side for the second to last rivet, I used the claw of a framing hammer as a bucking bar with the rivet gun. All I could accomplish was to set the rivet and beat up the end of the rivet. That did allow me to get the no-hole yoke on the squeezer in there and finish it off though. Need to repeat that on the other side. The last two rivets at the end I think I will install the pulled rivets as the plans allow.

I was surprised that I could get to all four of the rivets that join the skin/rib/rudder horn brace with the squeezer.

I ordered the 1 oz sealant from Van’s for doing the rudder trailing edge. Our lab pup took delivery of the package from the UPS guy and ate the instructions, so I had to get some help from VAF. http://www.vansairforce.com/community/showthread.php?t=77921
