Ok, now that the problem with the jig has been resolved, I got all the gear pieces together and put them on. The front fittings just didn't fit right. I did them according to the plans, but the inside shape was a little vague and I ended up taking too much material off the pieces. So, I made another set. Not a huge loss, just another opportunity to learn!
Once all the pieces were together, I took my time and tacked them to the reinforcing plate.
