Now that the flap handle is done, time for some housekeeping projects. I put in the MK1000-06 nutplates in the inboard rib of the horizontal stabs. It was a job I was waiting for a moment between projects to do. As it turns out, it was quite a bit of work to drill all those holes. Once that was done, the riveting was easy. I used an air/hydraulic riveter and some SS 3/32 pop rivets. They are a very shallow rivet and with the fabric and tape over them you will never know they are there. The other cool thing is the air riveter. Why I waited so long to buy one I have no idea, but it works unbelievably well, especially with multiple rivets like this. My hands would have been sore squeezing all those rivets by hand!
