Brief Description:  Elevator Trim Drive Part 10

I took some time this evening and I was going to make the trim actuator rods…key word “was”. I don’t have any 5/16ths tubing for the rod. When I ordered my steel, the rod was spec’ed out as ¼. In 2009 that was changed to 5/16ths rod. I never ordered any, so I’ll have to wait to make them. I have plenty of other things I can do.

I trimmed the trim drive arms to length. After that, I spent close to 2 hours reading Eric Newton’s manual and getting my head back in the game. I’ve found throughout my build that having a sense of where everything is in the build process (time and sequence-wise) is invaluable. It means not having to undo things or make things twice. So, getting up to speed in the build sequence is as valuable as build time. Tubing for the rods gets ordered tomorrow.
