Brief Description:  Horizontal Stabilizer Front Strut Part 5

I set the bottom fuselage brackets in place and aligned them to the stabilizer strut bushing location. Once tacked, I finish welded them in place and then heated them with a torch and bent them to the proper angle. I slid the strut end slot into lower mount and then heated the mount with a torch. It was really simple to just use the strut to bend it to the proper angle...worked great.

I then drilled the ends of the struts and bolted them to set the distance for the top mount. I cut two slots on the end of the strut and smooshed (technical term) them between two uneven steel blocks at the proper profile like Russ Erb had done. This makes the top flat and the bottom stays airfoil-shaped. Once that was done on both struts I edge-welded the slots.
