Brief Description: Profiled Horizontal Stab Part 4
Well, I was able to get a little done on the BH tonight. I have been fiddling with the form blocks that I borrowed from Pat Fagan for a couple of weeks now. I have found if I take the steel to the tip of the block, it still needs a way to go before it would be a good match for the tip to mate with the 7/8th tubing. I didn't want to bug Pat anymore to ask what he did to get his ribs made (I've buggged him too much already!), so I just decided to make my own blocks using Pat's templates. I made three blocks out of 3/4in red oak and a couple of backup blocks out of other wood. These neck down just a little further and should fit just right. I've made enough "practice" pieces that the forming goes really well and I'm happy with the way they are turning out.
