Brief Description:  Rudder Horn and tail spring mount

I decided to go with the wider rudder horn as recommended by Bob. It was originally 3 1/4in from rudder post to center of the cable hole, but in 2003 it changed to 2 1/4in. In 2007, Bob changed it back. Since the 2007 change didn't offer a full scale drawing, I had to make one from measurements and a copy of the "old" horn. It went very well and this part looks like it will be good the first time around.

The only negative that I have is the metal sheet I have is narrow and the grain goes length-wise. The width of the part is too big to fit across the grain. It's always recommended to make any bends in 4130 sheet against the grain, not along the axis. I did tilt the layout as much as I could, which will give the grain in the bend area at least some bias to the axis of the bend.

The tailwheel spring mount is really straightforward, no suprises. I gave it an 1/8th inch more on each side to give the bolts that mount the spring bracket a little more "meat", or bearing surface. The bolt holes were too close to the 90deg bends in the spring bracket for my comfort.
